Santa Goes Virtual Just in Time for the Holidays

COVID Recovery Iowa has launched free Virtual Santa visits just in time for the holidays. These safe and convenient visits are an ideal alternative as Iowans find new ways to honor holiday traditions during the pandemic.The Virtual Santa visits run through December 22. People of all ages are encouraged to sign up on the COVID Recovery Iowa Facebook page under Services and schedule a visit.

Vinton First Baptist Church to hold Thanksgiving Drive Thru

Vinton First Baptist Church, located at 601 1st Ave in Vinton, will hold a curbside pickup Thanksgiving Dinner. A complete heat and eat turkey meal with all the fixings will include a slice of Pumpkin Pie catered by Hy-Vee. Take home and reheat in the oven or microwave!Curbside pickup only at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

Christmas Open House kicks off the Christmas Shopping Season in Vinton

The Christmas Open House kicked off the Christmas season. Display inside LaGrange Pharmacy The Annual Christmas Open House was held by area businesses this past weekend.Several shoppers made their way downtown this last weekend checking out the offerings of our local businesses. REGISTER NOW for our Breakfast with Santa...drive-thru style! Our favorite jolly guy in the red suit will be joining us at our Breakfast with Santa event Saturday, December 5 from 9-11 AM at the Skate and Activity Center. Annual Christmas Parade Canceled

The annual kickoff to the Christmas season in Vinton scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2020, has been CANCELED. The Patriotic Christmas Parade will NOT be held as planned. Because of the cancelation, Santa will NOT be arriving in town that night either. 

Santa to land at the Vinton Fire Department

We received word today of some good news and bad news. The bad news is the cancellation of the 13th Annual Veterans Patriotic Christmas Parade tomorrow (11/19) night.But the good news: Santa Claus had his flights already booked to come to Vinton. In true Yuletide fashion and with the year of 2020 taking another thing from us, Santa still wanted to see the children (and adults) of Vinton tomorrow night.

Shellsburg American Legion Breakfast this Saturday

The Shellsburg American Legion is doing Saturday morning breakfast. The hours are the same, 8 - 10 am. American Legion Tenderloin Supper Canceled

There will not be a Tenderloin Dinner at the Vinton American Legion this week. The Legion has made the decision to cancel the dinner scheduled for this Friday, November 13. Thank you for your understanding.
